Our Faculties Small Animal Clinic Opened

In accordance with the Protokolü Street Animals Rehabilitation Protocol arasında signed between Aksaray University (ASU) and the Municipality of Aksaray, the Small Animal Clinic of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was arranged by Aksaray Municipality and opened for service with a ceremony. The ceremony was attended by representatives of civil society, politicians, representatives of professional chambers of agriculture and animal husbandry, executives of non-governmental organizations, academicians and students.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Rector of the University. Dr. Yusuf Sahin stated that ASU is doing its part and will continue to do everything in the city's need, and that cooperation with public institutions and non-governmental organizations in the city will continue. Mayor Haluk Şahin Yazgı stated that they attach great importance to the cooperation with the university and said, uk We used to carry out the procedures related to rehabilitation of street animals within the municipality before, but after our Veterinary Faculty was opened, we started to carry out these procedures with our university. We think that's more true. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the implementation of the project. ” Deputy Chairman of AK Party Group and Aksaray Deputy Ilknur Inceoz wished the study to be beneficial to the city, “It is very important to rehabilitate the street animals without damaging them. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the opening of this center. The clinic will also serve as the field of application for veterinary candidate students. In this sense, I want to express that it is important to work. I wish the new education period will be beneficial ”.

Dean of the Faculty Dr. Halil Selçuk Biricik stated that;

The main purpose of this protocol is to prevent animal welfare (zoonosis) diseases by taking into consideration animal welfare. Sterilization and registration procedures will be carried out by the faculty clinic department instructors of the street animals caught and vaccinated using appropriate methods by the municipality. Afterwards, after the post-operative care of the street animals in the animal shelter of our municipality will be left to their natural environment again. The studies will continue at regular intervals. The Small Animal Clinic, which we established with the support of our Municipality, will not only be limited to street animals, but will also serve animal husbandry in our region.

Our Mayor's Office of Veterinary Medicine has spent about 70 000 TL for the purchase of small animal examination and operation room materials and has not supported its support. Within the scope of the protocol that will last for 2 years, Mr. President stated that they will support us in the purchase of the materials required. Thank you, Mr. Mayor.
